Default Fitting STI Bucket seat into KE70

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone dared to fit impreza STI bucket seats in a KE70? There's a "car parts" auction tomorrow in our area and on the list is a nice looking pair of STI bucket seats from a 2003 Impreza, and i was considering to bid on them.

If anyone has done this, i'd like to know how they did, if at all they succeeded in making them fit. i'm fairly tall - 184cm, so i'm trying to get a comfortable driver's seat position.

    Thanks.

    max

max you can make them fit, but i have heard that all wrx seats made after my99 sit really high ie. your head will be hitting the roof.
but maybe thats just an issue with the factory subaru rails you wont be using anymore anyway.

I have made them fit but I had to go to a decent amount of work to make it happen and not end up too tall. However this is in my ae86 and it likely has a lower roof than the ke70

Yep, I put one of the 1998 WRX seats from my RS Liberty in the KE the other weekend for shits and giggles and the back of the seat is ok but if you use the WRX rails then you end up with it very high at the front which would make it hard to get your legs under the steering wheel. Might be worth it if you could pic up a set really cheap but there is a little bit of stuffing around. Also with the KE the wider top hits on the B-Pillar unless you recline it back a fair way.

    Cheers

    Paul,
Do you have any pics of the how close the B-Pillar gets to the wider top?

another thing of note is that if your going to weld anywhere near them have wet rags all around the area and a bucket of water near by, welding splatter melts through seat foam real quick.

It touches, or overlaps if you like by about 5-10mm. I didn't take any photos while I had it in there. The later model GD seats do not have the big wings around your shoulders like the GC seats but they sit even higher again I am told.

Pre 99 seats are the lowest type. Some 2000 onwards had wider seats to suit other markets
