    Default engine idle help

my car won't idol it starts then stalls, but a before I go into full detail ill give you all a bit more info on my car

    Ke70 with 16v 4age
Motor and loom from ae82 corolla bigport first gen with map sensor

I had installed the motor and had the engine running at the start of the year I even drove the car up the drive way but I had put the car in the shed and hadn't started it for a few months as I was fixing rust and working on my other car,

But the other week I went to start it and It wouldn't start it would idol then stall!

I have fuel at the injectors and fuel pump works fine it's a vn commodore in tank pump that I have modified to fit the ke70 tank

    I have checked all plugs!
I have power at the coil!
    I have 12.63 v at the battery

Then I replaced the ignition leads
    I replaced the dizzy cap
    I replaced the rotor arm
I replaced the coil w/igniter module from a confirmed working car

I have checked all wiring and plugs for loose terminals etc etc!

I have two grounds from the battery one to the engine the other to the body of the car!
I took the cam covers off to see how the cams were and there fine nothing has broken!

So after all that and still nothing I thought the timing may have been out!

so I set the cams to there timing marks I pulled the cam gears off to see if the pins were in the right place

Intake cam pin was at 12 o clock
Exhaust cam pin was at 5 o clock
I set the no 1 piston to TDC
And lined the crank pulley up with its mark then reinstalled everything and harmonic balancer mark lines up with the 0 on the lower timing cover

I also removed the distributor and re lined up all marks on that and put that back in

But nothing has changed it's still doing the same thing! It starts idols for a few seconds then stalls!

If anyone has any ideas as to what is wrong with my car would be great or better yet if someone can come have a look at it would be even better

its got me completely stumped! As to why it was running fine and then now it won't even idol!

yo, it's IDLE. you been watching too much Australian idol? lol

Does it idle well for the time it does run? and does it idle for a few seconds or real brief like less than a second.

My two possible solutions if it is the above is, are you running a toyota FCOR or a made up dummy using two relays? Could the latch/hold (FC pin) relay be stuck? or Has the connection at the coil negative to ignitor gone bad that the ignitor isn't sending an IGf signal to the ECU and hence stalls out after 11 igntion events?

Yeah sorta I've tried advancing and retarding the timing by turning the dizzy to see if that makes any difference and nothing really and I've found that by having the idol screw almost all way the to the bottom works okay it starts runs fine then dies so no real change?

On a separate note does the map sensor have to get its power from the ecu or can it get power from a separate source? Like something that has Accessory power

5 volts is 5 volts. MAP sensor ain't care where it comes from as long as it don't got no ripple in the power supply. Well, it's not your MAP sensor that's gonna care, your ECU is gonna see the ripple as a false fluctuation in the MAP signal.

Wait, do you even have power at the injectors? When it does stall out, is it a clean stop like nothing you do helps it or does it struggle to run on and on and on and eventually konk out?

Um well a "mate" of myself, dad helped me with all the wiring as I'm not to confident what that and he wired the fuel pump up to a relay so that when I turn the key to acc it turns on and it was working fine,

So I replaced the fuel filter and no change
I got another set of injectors so I'm gonna try those and see I also got an adjustable fuel pressure reg so I can see exactly what fuel pressure I have and can go from there but I'm waiting a few parts to come before I can try and start it again,

Um and when i try to start it on the off chance it does start it'll run idle for a second or two then just stall I've tried to keep it from stalling by flicking the throttle and it seems to stall quicker I've also tried to adjust that idle speed thing and had made no difference,

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated guys, cos I just seem to be getting nowhere
