    Question SR20 AE86

hey guys, my names james, I havnt really posted here before..
Im just after a few answers to help me finish my SR20 AE86 (please dont hate lol)

Im running a NA autech sr20 with ITB's out of a jdm s15, rb30 gear box, r31 diff..

its all in and happy with all that, but now im up to the wiring and fuel set up and im a little stuck on what would be the best method to finish it..

for wiring: I have standard looms. (motor, 86 body loom) and will be running a microtech LT10s computer.
but reason for posting is i got a JDM 86 body loom and dont know where to start, would any one have a wiring diagram and could point me in the direction what each plug is..

and the thing im most stuck on is my Fuel set up..
what to do? being NA i wasnt really planning on surge tank or a 044 pump as they'd be abit over kill..
VL pump? is any one using it and just run me through what i actually need?

or alternatively have a JDM ae86 fuel tank i could buy..

all help would be appreciated. thanks

Careful with plugging a Japanese body loom into a Australian engine bay loom... if the Japanese loom is from a later model (Kouki) You'll set fire to it...
Best to use all looms from one car (All Australian, or all Japanese). Plugging it in isn't a big issue, if two plugs are close by that fit each other - plug em in.

In regards to fuel. I've run a inline pump for years without issue... you surge when driving hard with under 1/4 tank of fuel, but avoid that and it's no problem.
If you want to fix that issue, then you need to either use a Japanese tank (thats baffled) or install a surge tank with a extra pump (one high flow, low pressure to fill the surge tank. one high pressure to feed the fuel rail)
No point saying "Get a VL pump" etc... just get a pump that suits the requirements of the engine pressure and fuel line size.

Sr20 is a good engine, but i'm not so sure about going NA?

A good option to finish your wiring is to take it to an auto electrician on a trailer and say please make my car go and touch your toes for the bill.

Alternatively, the wires aren't that difficult to work out, do you have a wiring diagram for the SR20? And what engine bay / fusebox loom are you running? What engine did the car have in it originally?

What do you know about wiring? And can you read a diagram and follow instructions?

    Thanks for the advice guys.
But for wiring I've found a guy that's done it before and is a sr guru.
I'd rather pay him to do it and save my self a head ache on this one.
I've had enough building the rest of the car. Wiring just isn't my thing.

And for fuel set up I've decided to play it safe and go with what works and is reliable.

Surge tank, lift pump and a VL pump.

Even if it isn't necessary right now I do plan to go turbo in the future. Might as well do it once and be done with it.

I wish I saw this more often, Autech SR20s are awesome.

But, whats with the angle on your intake, isn't it a bit... extreme?

As long as it has a nice curve in the runners and no sharp corners it should be fine, lots of factory plenum type manifolds have bigger curves in them than that. Should definitely do a good skid once it's finished.
