Measure the discs, stock rear discs are 232mm
Hi All,
I've just bought myself an 86 with 4agze engine and disc brake rear end.
I'm fairly sure its a JDM rear diff with LSD and 'stock' JDM brakes and discs - but wanted to confirm before I went out and bought replacement bearings and seals etc..
can you guys tell from this photo what it is?
cheers, Steve

hi all, I'm pulling the car slowly apart, and the rear calipers don't look like the standard jdm disc brake calipers. can you guys recognise what car they are from?
also, the bleed nipples on both rear calipers have been snapped off... has anyone had this happen? and what did you do about it?

hey they look like jdm te71 calipers. still zenki t series with dual row bearings but different calipers. if you can wait till thurs next week i can positively confirm for you as i have 2
oh n just get an easy out into the nipples. they should come out. my mate had it happen. lent him my easy outs, fixed
ok so you have the EXACT same problem as me. I have what looks like the same calipers on my T series diff.......Have no idea what they are, but im removing mine for some genuine AE86 items.
Found some info researching the Te71 callipers - although one comment suggesting they may be early AE86 callipers.
The seem to fit the diff with no modifications, although not 100% on what diff it is at this stage.
another site shows they the same as TE71 -
Yes thos calipers come from a te71 GT or RA40 GT rear end. They sit 1mm different to ae86 calipers, however the bracket is the same.
Hmmm ours look very similar, but i noticed that my handbrake mechanism looks slightly different:
huw i dont think yours are te71 brakes. the handbrake mechanism is obviously different n im not sure whats going on with your disks but they are not hubcentric like the standard te71 disks
