NES is as retro as I go
Battletoads and Super Mario Bros 3 will keep me busy for long enough. I try to do a speed run of SMB3 at least once a year these days so I stay sharp
anyone else here a retro gamer?
i've always loved gaming, my first console was either a atari 2600 or 7800, next pc/console i had was a amiga 500 followed by pretty much everything else nintendo based until the PS1 came out.
still have every console i've ever bought apart from the atari that got sold at a garage sale.
its a shame that kids these days dont get to experience era's like when street fighter 2 was at every corner store/arcade everywhere, you had to place your 20c coins on the screen to book your turn at fighting some guy with a high win streak.
modern gaming is still good, heaps of hours playing CS:source etc but there was something cool about gaming in the late 80's and 90's, maybe because alot of innovation was happening.

shadow of the beast on amiga 500, my first true gaming love. i think it came out in 89, for the time the graphics and music were amazing. i think they still hold up today but i might be biased.
relentlessly hard gameplay, it was the kind of game you would die millions of times in but you'd memorise enemy patterns and on the next play through get that little bit further.
getting remade for ps4 apparently

Even had a serial joystick.
Released in 1993, a year before Tekken was even out That street fighter crap came out in 91, but for a "shareware" PC floppy you coul dget at the market for 2 bucks it was the shit.
