ha ha yeah I know, I started the day with a pair of shit tyres that had about 10% tread left, I was planning on destroying those in the first few runs but they held up all day.

They are a few years old and must be super hard.

Anyway I think there finally done so I'll use my sticky tyres on the rear next time and go for some more smoke.

    UPDATE!!!!!

I finally got sick of my car doing a twin towers impersonation every time I started it.

it looked a bit like this.

So I decided to pull my finger out and change the valve stem seals.

Jase, vtec and myself stripped the bitch down a few weekends ago.
    here's Jase in action

After that day my engine looked like this.

I got new valve stem seals seals, headgasket and cam seals. after getting the head acid bathed it was reconstruction time. Luckily I took 2 photos before we stripped the engine, unluckily I took them at the worst possible angle and cant even see how to put everything back.

After a bit of guessing it now looks like this.

and hopefully wont do this anymore

I tried starting it today but my battery was rooted, bit of an anticlimax, so Im charging it tonight and can hopefully start it tomorrow, then I should make it to the SD drift day on tue.

A bit has happened to this not so active drift car of late.
Vtec and I planned to go to a drift day about 2 months ago, the lead up to the day was hectic with me replacing valve stem seals and headgasket trying to stop its addiction to smoking, I finished the job only days before the event.
The morning came and i started the car to put it on the car trailer, within 20 seconds it started running on 3 cylinders at best. No drift day for me.

I let it sit for over a week without so much as looking at it out of spite. Once I stopped sulking I removed the head and couldnt really find any obvious causes.
I was stumped, but luckily I happened upon a true legend engine/head builder down Tweed Heads way who took one look at my head and HG and told me my problem lurked deep below.

After Marky the engine Jedi stripped my engine down he found f***** bearings, scoured crank, rooted bearings and an engine full of shite.

    Solution:
crank grind, cylinder bore hone, deck the block/ shave the head (both were warped), .

Along the way we decided to:
port the head, port match the inlet manifold/extractors, ACL 1mm HG, ARP head studs, ACL rings, new bearings, replace all gaskets/seals, smooth all oil gallery's.

Heres the inlet ports (one on the left is done, right is factory)

    block

Progress is being made, but because Marky is looking after me so much with price Im not rushing him along.

While all this was going on I became sick of looking at my car sitting there looking ugly.

So Ive decided to go for something more like this.

Im beginning my spray painting career by doing the engine bay
    Before

    what Im up to currently

Sanding an engine bay is the shittest, theres so many tight bits to jam your hand into and cut it up. joy
