Thanks mate, I just checked out your little machine. It looks great, very good inspiration. I was so inspired I decided to sand down the engine bay and get it ready for top coat instead of drinking beers, that's how inspired.

Some may call it gay but I don't care I'm a massive jap drift fan boy, so my quater window sticker tinting begins.

    Also any painters out there????
I'm just about to do the base colour coat (acrylic spray cans), probably 2 coats, then a coat of clear.
Should I sand in between each coat? Or just sand before the clear coat? Or don't sand at all?
I'm thinking option 2, a light rub down before clear.

Painting with cans is extreamlly hard. It depends on so much. As you're doing blue, just flatten the primer and paint like 4 wet coats. It leaves less "line" i have found.

And i wouldnt even paint clear on it, but im lazy and like doing easy repairs now.

yeah engine bay is staying white, I'll be doing the outside blue soon with a gun. I've done 2 coats of white this arv, still needs 1 more I think. Also your spot on with it leaving lines, because there are so many different angles to paint in the engine bay its really hard to keep a wet edge, I think the only way to do it 100% pro would be mask off each area and do them separately.

I'm sooooo keen for another one of those. This engine build has really blown out. Should be a bit of a weapon when its done though.
