I've got a generic 6-700ml surge tank mounted between tank and panhard rod (similar/identical to this: ). It's fiddly to get a pre filter, lift pump, the surge tank and high pressure pump mounted under there, but it hasn't given me any issues since installed. With a big lift pump I could drift until well after the fuel light comes on.
Ive got a generic surge tank mounted on the left hand side of the muffler. with a lift pump and pressure pump above the panhard rod.
I guess the capacity is ~500ml, but you could fit a lot bigger unit if you wanted.
the only downside is needing to shield the fuel lines from the hot exhaust.
