Default 4age water temp senders. which ones which

Hi all, i am getting prepared to install a vipec ecu. Is the temp sensor on the water outlet pipe where the top radiator hose joins on for the gauge and the one at the back of the engine for the ecu. Does it make a difference. Also there are two sensors at the back of the engine, why? Cheers, Trent

The one on the front of the engine is only for the dash gauge, the two sensors on the back are for coolant temperature for the ecu(green) and operation of the cold start injector(brown)
Use the green one for the ECU coolant signal

Another quick question. Would i get the same temp reading at the front of the engine as the back. My ecu came with a new water temp sensor but its 1/8 npt and the rear temp sensor port looks like m12x1.5 or something and i have an adapter 1/8npt to 3/8npt so i could use it on the radiator outlet pipe but not at the back of the engine. Would this be a problem? Cheers

The front should be m16x1.5 rear is m12x1.5, if you replace the rear sensor with the adapter and your new sensor that will be fine.
