But i couldn't do it, i couldn't bring my self to destroy (any more) such a fine piece of ass,
so the rebuild began...
basically the plan was fix it up, put a T28 on it (180kw on standard ecu) and put it in the shed for a couple years while i built a house, so i got to work
Here you can see i have fabricated some new rear guards to make the new wheels feel at home
and my mate put some pretty new paint down
got it looking pretty just in time for all japan day at Glenelg (fo show)
But then i thought i would take it to mallala matsuri the day before, luckily Christian Pickering was nice enough not to rough my car up to much
so it was still looking pretty the next day for AJD
and then it was going in to retirement to live in the shed....
that lasted for about a week, i decided to put my 3071 back on the car and drive it some more, i pulled my good motor out and put an unknown $300 engine in there, started it up and to my surprise it wasn't knocking.
So i converted it to E85 and it made 280RWKW
This lasted about 20 laps (who would have thought)
so we freshened up another motor
and the car went on the truck to Darwin for its first interstate trip with the new look
when the car got back i decided to build up a decent engine for it which is where we are now, with a 2.2ltr
Then there were 2 waste gates
and she was ready to party again
I dont want to get anyone started with roller vs hub dyno, but with the new set up on the first tune (roller dyno) it made 313kw and 980nm of torque (the 2 litre only made about 600nm) and its a bloody animal, ill try get some in car footage up in the next couple of days
thanks
