What car is this in, is there a Check Engine light connected?
hey guys new to the 4age engine, need some advance
I have a bigport silvertop the car drives fine when cold but lacking bottom end power (still has tvis)
when it gets to right operating temp It backfires and has no acceleration.
I have change coil and igniter unit, inlet and tvis gasket, throttle body gasket, tps, I set the ignition timing to 10 degrees advanced
had a look at the dizzy and was a bit rusty so I cleaned all the points up ran a little bit better but still backfired and has no throttle response like its getting a gut load of air spark plugs are really rich.
has anyone had this problem before or is it just me..... thanks for your help in advance

hey mate no engine light is connected its in a ke70
Is the cold start injector still installed, able to disconnect and see if it changes?
still installed haven't disconnect it as of yet will give it a try bit late now, neighbours will have a fit haha
Was the timing set with a jump wire on TE1 and E1?, also check if the timing changes when doing this
I unplug cold start injector didn't make a difference, I just replaced all the old dirty fuel and put new fuel in along with injector cleaner and also put a new fuel filter in.
when the car is in neutral and you slowly bring the revs up and goes up smooth but if you flat to the floor it will bog down an backfire.
Check your cam belt timing..
