Default T series diff shock hanger (disc conversion)

    Car - ae86

    Part - T series diff

Problem - How do you know if you need to reweld the shock hangers when doing an rt142 disc brake conversion?

From reading it seems some t-series diffs need to have the hangers moved and others don't, to prevent the shocks from fouling on the calipers. I don't have the calipers/parts yet so I can't bung them on to see.

The diff I have supposedly came from a t-18 (I'm not sure of the year).

^^ Agreed. Weld them so the "arm" that holds the mount is vertical, roughly in the middle of the trailing arm bracket and you'll be fine. There's plenty of pictures around showing this process too.

Move them lower as well to help get lowered springs closer to being captive.

Ok cheers. Out of curiosity, which T drum diffs don't need the hangers moved? Just the sprinter ones?
