omg man stop making endless threads about it and take it to a fecking mechanic!!!
There are heaps of them in every area!! THEY CAN LOOK AT THE CAR!!! THEY ARE TRAINED!!
Oh and probably trailer it so your wheel doesn't fall off![]()
car feels normal when driving but the right wheel smells of burn't synthetics much like rubber after about 10-15 mins of regular city driving. and a faint squeaking sound which goes on and off although I'm not as worried about that.
why does my right wheel smell after regular driving and left wheel doesn't? it's worth mentioning that I've just replaced my rotors and disc pads before this occured and it was also first time I did it myself. anyone have any ideas of what the problem might be?

The new disks were covered in oil when new in the box. You are ment to wash all this off with brake cleaner before you put them on the car. Otherwise the oil gets into the brake pads and it takes a while for the brakes to get back to normal.
Also, you should grind a small chamfer on the edge of the brake pads.

a mechanic WOW why didn't I think of that? fucking genius mate
if my threads bother you dont fucking read em. this is a forum for technical questions I'm allowed to ask. how would you feel if when you were learning and asking questions and some dickhead is just like take it to a mechanic?
obviously I know I can take it to a mechanic, thats what I've been doing all my life but now I want to learn to do it myself to save money and learn something while I'm at it. mechanics isn't just for wankers who think they are top shit and anyone else who tries and isn't prefect straight away isn't.
i suppose when youre kid is learning to walk you'd probably tell him give up and get a wheelchair instead.
btw thanks for your help jonny
i wouldn't trust my ae86 with common mechs...
last one i went to thought my car was a prelude... that was 5 years ago

My comments are more along the line that it is very hard to tell what is going on with your problems. Also you seem to have had quite a few problems with the work your doing, so i suggest rather than relying on people that you don't know and who might not have much of a clue, you should take it to a mechanic who can look at it and show you what needs doing.
The parts your working on are kind of important and if you want to work on them without a clue what your doing thats up to you. BUT when you go out driving and something fails because you just didn't know about something you are endangering other people.
And as far as not trusting any mechanics, i mean come on the parts we are talking about here are hardly rocket science, how could any qualified mechanic feck up on something that simple??
I do as much as i can on my car and if it's a bit beyond me i get jonny to come and help. So far the only thing i haven't tried doing myself was wiring in my adaptronic, cos i decided i didn't need the head ache.
But if i did some work on my car and i had random problems happening that i couldn't find an obvious solution for the first thing i would do is ring Jonny who is a mechanic, if i couldn't get a hold of him i'd be straight onto another mechanic to ask rather than asking here. If it was something really strange that even the mechanic couldn't work out then i'd ask here. but i would want to make sure it wasn't something silly like oil on the discs before i posted multiple times about it!
