Threads all over club4ag stating people have had dodgy batches from weir...has me considering selling mine to buy TRD instead
I ve just put a weir crown wheel and pinion and bearings in my ra40 diff it now sounds like it has a dog box in it noisey as !!!!
The guys that fitted it are very good at what they do but said it was a real buggar of thing to fit .
First problem was that the crown wheels are a lot thicker than oem,the pinions also sit further back, thus when the hemisphere spins it misses the rear of the
pinion by 20 thou!!
They had to machine the face of the hemishere to get the crown wheel any where near right.
Has any one had this problem,i thought that a 6.7 diff would all be the same but not so!
help! rob

Toyota genuine gears are sometimes labelled TRD gears.
TRD did make final gear kits but only 4.7? and 5.3 from memory
