This wouldn't be a silver over black trueno coupe? The tune sounds horrible, and to be honest Wolf ECU's aren't exactly the greatest. Not many tuners have any interest in them either.
Hi guys recently bought an ae86 with a na 4age. The tune in it is horrible with the oil turning black in 500klm the motor seems to want to go but it's dead down low. Once it hits operating temps it idles at 1500rpm and what not.
Motor spec list is
koyo radiator
16v bigport full rebuild(smallport block)
toda piston
toda spring valve
toda high lift camshaft
toda cam gear
toda under bucket shim
toda conrods
metal head gasket
blacktop itb
billet sp tech trumpets
sard fuel reg
jubiride extractor
jazma exhaust (new high flow cat and muffler)
wolf ecu
So the motor isn't a stocker the last tune made 101hp at the wheels but I don't have a Dyno sheet I'm only going off the last owner.
My question is who is good with 4age and can tune wolf ecu??? And what type of power should I expect out of this setup?????
I'm not sure on the cam spec yet till I pull it off but it dose have an aggressive idle and seems to me the cams kick in at 4000rpm.
I'm located nsw so tuners in this state would be good cheers guys

I'd change ecu personally, most tuners hate them haha. 101hp is sweet fuck all
I know a dude in Lismore if you're keen for a drive! He tuned my carb 4age and got 140hp at the wheels out of it, in theory yours should be making similar.

Yeah jimmee it is a silver over black trueno. I agree I thought around the 130hp mark . What is so bad with the wolf ecu it looks to be a new unit not very old at all it's a wolf v4x
Ditch the wolf. Find a good tuner and ask him which ecu to go with, make sure your cams are dialled in properly.
Oil turning black is pretty normal, so long as the viscosity is still good I wouldn't worry about it

Agree with the other comments about ditching the wolf... Adaptronic / haltech are the 2 i'd use.

Well so far no one has said why to ditch the wolf v4x is it just because no one likes them or they have bad tune ability????
And so far no one has recommended a work shop that are good with 4age and 86 in general. I was thinking of trying jason at southern motor works
Reason i suggested to dump it was how hard it is to find a tuner for it. Sure a good tuner can look at the software and know what is going on after fumbling through the screens, but most tuners charge ~$200 an hour for dyno time and paying them that amount when they don't really know the software gets expensive quick.
Having said that i went to their website and Silverwater Automotive Services was listed on there, they have a reasonable reputation so i'd suggest to take it there otherwise efi evolution in Coffs Harbour.
Best of luck, and please if u go with one of the tuners let us know how it goes.

I got a very similar build to yours!
made 110kw at the rear wheels
but the difference is I have an Adaptronic ecu, not the best either but way more tuneability compared to the Wolf's because not many tuners hold the software to access it
I got mine tuned at CV Performance
A friend of mine runs a wolf ecu, has to drive halfway across melb to get his car tuned regularly as it seems the ecu is constantly f'ing up, pays out the arse for tuning time as there are very little people able to tune them. With the amount of money he has wasted on getting this largely unsupported ecu to run "decently" he could have paid for something much better and made more power aswell.
