motor / part in question - hilux diff
problem - I want to buy an LSD for my 1983 hilux (G series diff I think?) but I am unsure of what to get, I don't want a factory LSD as they are pretty average, I want something more along the lines of my TRD 2 way in my T series in the 86, is anything like this available for this diff? And no I don't want a tru trac
occurs/started when (if applicable)- n/a
personal situation (if applicable)- daily

I reckon Cusco might do LSD for them. I know they do LSD for Hiace vans.
G series is Hilux rear. IS300 is too. Some Supra also have 8" rear. Do some goooooogling
Cusco, TRD etc will all do centres

AJPS.
Yes, you need a G series. There should be a huge range of them: TRD, Cusco, Tomei, Kaaz, probably some Yank stuff too for the 4WD market.
Agree with Mr Kid, Google more, or speak to your favorite parts pusher.
Don't really have a parts pusher :/ I'll get my google on, is there any simple way to confirm that it is a G series diff?
8" crown wheel.
Might pay to search some 4wd forums, you going to slide your tow rig?

No just need reliable drive to both wheels, and all 4x4 guys speak of is tru tracs and air lockers, I want a proper comfortable lsd
Oh, I assumed it was being put into a sprinter. Look on the VIN plate at trans/axle. It should say w57 (?) and G__X. The blanks tell you there gear ratio through some Toyota coding and the X tells you whether it's LSD (3 or 5) or not (2 or 4).
Comfy LSD = TRD, cusco, os giken, carbonerics/ATS. Don't get a kaaz if you want it to be comfy daily LSD.
its either this one or this one
