this is what i have at the moment:
4age bigport head
7age block
7age flywheel
7a sump
101 quad throttle
vernier cam gear
spool rods
ca18det pistons
toda valve springs
wolf 3d
but still in stock cams
not sure what cam to use, but something good for street use.
I think Bigport heads have around 245 cam duration normally, 10 degrees or so more than smallports at around 235 duration, so if you want something more aggressive maybe 272-280 duration. You dont want to rev it quite as high as a 1600, but the extra 200ccs will make a more aggressive cam driveable a couple hundred rpm lower.
i see people usually use cams around 264-272, maybe 288, not many examples with 300 or more. is 300 ok for street use?
depends what you deem ok?
depends what you deem as street?
driving it to the dyno/tyre shop/local track/mechanics - yes
or commuting to work, parking in town, road trips - its gonna suck

That's because 300+ is usually reserved for race only applications. You will make no power under 4.5k rpm, peak power at 9k+ rpm. Your motor needs to be very well built to sustain those revs and judging by the fact you have ca18 pistons, I'd say it was a budget build. Do you have under bucket shims?

larger cams reduce you dynamic CR. meaning you need higher static CR.
272 is the max for a stock bottom end. from experience.
