Default Coilover insert nut is stuck

So I've got different top hats to install on my AJPS coilovers but I've run into a problem.

The nut that holds the damper, top hat and camber top together wont undo without the insert spinning, and nothing I've tried has been able to hold the insert still including vice grips, multi grips, impact wrench etc.

The setup is AJPS coilovers, techno toy tuning camber plate.

The pic is just to show what's happening, although I jack the suspension up through the shock tower hole when I'm trying to undo it.

I'm running out of ideas on how to undo it so if anyone has any ideas just let me know!

    Thanks.

Dito on the rattle gun. Also helps if you undo it first with the weight of the car on it.

Get vise grips on the very top of the shock shaft where it won't travel into the shock insert and damage the seals, then get a rattle gun onto it

Yeah I've tried vice grips on the top of the shaft and multigrips just below at the same time and then a rattle gun but it still wont hold the shaft still enough. :|

Get penetrant like wd40 or crc on the nut, leave it over night even, failing that, get some heat into it with a heatgun and then spray penetrant on it, and then rattle gun

Re-attach it to the car, drop it onto its wheels and use a rattle gun.
If this does not work then drive it to your local tyre shop and have them put a windy gun on it while the weight of the car is on the suspension.

Well I tried the heating method tonight but it didn't budge, and I've already tried it with the weight of the car on it(a windy gun is a rattle gun isn't it?). ill try taking them off the car to get more bite on he insert.
They sure do David, hopefully the steering will feel better with the right tops in, also can a insert nut be bought as a seperate spare part from you?
