old car, could have some damage to the strut or chassis
how do the wheels sit in relation to the guards etc? (is the track even)
can extend one lca or modify top for more camber.....
Hi All,
Ive just rebuilt the front end of my car and have had the wheel alignment done.
the most camber they could get on the drivers side was 0.5 degrees, whereas on the passenger side they could get 2.5 degrees.
The car has:
XT130 lower arms
standard caster rods
40mm RCA's
standard struts
lowered king springs
adjustable camber and caster strut tops.
Why is the drivers and passengers sides so different?
Is this something from the factory?
thanks, Steve

chassis looks straight, but I haven't taken any measurements.
Ill put a straight edge on the strut tomorrow.
Do you recon the stub axle could be bent in relation to the strut?
thanks, Steve.
yes i have heard of it and see it quite a few times
we sell a weld on wedge brace to help that
the strut itself rarely bends but the stub can where it joins the strut

Check that the engine crossmember is centered in the chassis.
Thanks for the advice guys.
Ill take some measurements to ensure the engine crossmember is central - cheers.
assuming the issue is the crossmember, the maximum camber I can get on both sides will be 1.5 degrees. my plan was to get 2.5 degrees.
So I'm thinking about buying new camber plates to get some more camber.
How much camber can you get with a stock suspension setup and adjustable camber tops before the stock strut/spring starts rubbing on the strut tower?
thanks, Steve
From memory you will get a little more than stock and enough to get yours equal both sides at about 1.5 degrees.
You might be better off keeping your top mounts and getting adjustable lower control arms.
Your issue is your king springs, they will be hitting the and stopping camber adjustment. If you've winded them all the way in.
All - just as a follow up, Tottacrolla was spot on the money. The engine crossmember is slightly off-centred to the chassis - too far to the passenger side.
there is a 5 or 6mm gap on the drivers side, whereas on the passeneger side there is no gap- so its roughly 3mm out.
which according to my maths is approx. 0.5 degrees change.
The next step is to get some adjustable lower arms or coilovers/camber tops to increase the camber.
Good to hear, ive always wondered why they are slightly off with camber either side from factory nearly always. must be an issue from factoy.
