Ae86 40 DCOE Weber Air Filters

Hey Guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem. I've installed my webers onto my 4age smallport, the stock ram tubes were hitting the brake booster, so I changed the ram tubes to a short one. I have air filter socks on them, but have been advised to remove them as they can throw the webers out of tune.
My question is, is there an air filter in the market that can fit over the webers without or touching the brake booster? I have seen some ramflo ones, but I am unsure how short they are.

I remember trial fitting ramflo filters to check clearance, they do clear but because they are so short I don't think a ram tube would fit under them. I found a picture from member "baker" showing the clearance. I don't see how changing to these would affect the tune as both are foam filters.

The filter will only affect the tune if it was tuned without them to begin with, which is a terrible idea anyway. Those ramflo filters flow terribly also, on top of not being able to fit a proper radius edge stack under them. Why not make a plenum as big as you can and a filter down near the front of the car? Solves both your filter and clearance issues.

While I agree with the above few have the resources to make an airbox.

I say put the stacks back on your has with some slide on filters, maybe a gearbox spacer plate and a Starlet brake master cylinder

Thanks for the info guys. I thought about making a plenum, but the only downside is that it won't clear the brake booster.

that's why you shoudl fit the Starlet make booster, it's a slimmer profile
