Default TRD lsd - does it need a rebuild?

    hi all,
ive taken apart my diff to check the backlash etc, and found i have a trd 2 way lsd.

are there any specs to determine how far away my lsd is from needing a rebuild?
    anything visually i can check?

ive stripped the lsd, all lsd plates look to be ok and they still have the oil grooves.

i assume there shuold be a minimum measurement for the thickness of the lsd plates?
    thanks steve.

you can reshim them to get back the breaking strain on the axles
on the f series trd centers they are 120foot pounds breaking strain before it starts to slip ,not sure on the t series but the shims are like 15 each and the rebuild kits are about 300 a set

as an update to this, I couldn't find any specs on what the shim thicknesses.

what I did do though is measure the thickness of the shim on the worn section and compared it to the unworn section - it was only 0.02mm difference....so stuff all.
times 0.02mm by 10 or so shims, its still only 0.2mm.
im pretty confident the diff will perform ok as is.

what you can do is put 1 axle in the vice 2put the lsd on top of the axle ,then next put the other axle in the diff ,use a adder to get up high and use a torque wrench on 1 of the wheel studs with lug nut on see how much it takes to start moving
start off with 80 foot lbs and keep adjusting to it lets go ,that will be your breaking strain if it lets go real easy a shim kit wont help ,you will need a rebuild kit i can get them in if need be as i have 5 sets here for f series
