how would you adapt it? cut and shut on the bellhousing?
Has anybody put a BW T5 into an AE86? I would like to know if it will fit with only minor tunnel massaging before I start buying parts.

It's for a non-Toyota engine that originally came with a T5. The T5 is about the same strength as a W5x so if it fits I'd use it, otherwise I'd adapt a supra box.
Should be falrly similar in size to a w58 too from memory.

T5s should be rebuilt and shimmed for higher hp applications, the light alloy casing distorts under full power and you experience a lot of end float misaligning gears in the box. As such they shim the cases against the shafts somehow to keep it in tolerance. There are a lot of saloon car racers that have to use them and they are widely regarded as being a crap box amongst these people.
Stick with w58!
There are also allot of t5 to w58 bell housings out there
