288's are getting big man, and with that cam timing, it isnt gona have shit before 4k. what are you revving it too ?. do you have a dyno print out for us to see ?.would sound lumpy too, 256/264 wouldnt sound lumpy.you need a cam card, it would be good to see what duration @ .050" is.why is this dam forum not page breaking or paragraphing.everything is just word wrapped

well, it was still making power at the end off the rev range, more revs would yield more power, tho tq was dropping off. if you want more mid, i think ya gonna have to play with cam timing, or throw some smaller cams in. any dynos of those cams at stock timing ?
as said, small port would help too, but thats more work than needed.

Head has most likely been ported by a retard.

For the cam timing you could revert back to stock pullies just to make sure the timing is correct and on the right tooth. Use this as a reference for the adjustable pullies.
Fine tune the cam timing on a dyno.
288 degree cams will have a fair amount of overlap at standard timing, combine the timing you have now with a big port head on blacktop itb's and you end up with an engine that makes less power than a stock engine except for the last 1000rpm or so.
What length stacks do you have on the itb's ?

To be honest, there is not much porting there, its just been cleaned up.

The only place the mixtures are near correct is at 6300rpm. You shouldn't need to go any richer than 13.0AFR or .90 lambda at full throttle.

Cams need to be dialled in regardless of what gears you use. I've seen the location pins indexd wrong from cam manufactures and by your comments realy dont know where your cams are set.

Having said that they must be close as the torque curv does not look that bad

Having a quick look at the cam gear position and comparing to toda cam pulley sheet, it appears that they are both timed to approximately 115 degrees? Given the bolt in the slot position on intake gear. Without putting a cam card on the crank pulley and finding true tdc, you wont know whether cam timing has much to do with it.
