Eddie, the car is looking amazing!! better than it ever did! Top Work!
I have an idea of why the car was missing a panhard rubber and bush...
This one time, on a camping trip, late at night, I was driving her down a 4x4 only road. I'd covered quite a few long corrugated unsealed roads to get there, so they had already given her a bit of a shake-up.
Anyway, the panhard rod nut must have worked it's way loose and jumped ship, never to be seen again. I tried looking for it in the pitch black with my iphone torch, but it wasn't to be.
I pulled a trusty piece of rope from the boot and tied the panhard rod back into place. I cried myself to sleep that night... in the wilderness... with a broken 86 and a broken heart.
As soon as the sun rose I nursed the 86 to the nearest town (80kms) and rolled up to the local garage, hoping they'd be open (being a Saturday in a sleepy ass town). Thankfully they were and the old man let me rummage through his nuts until I found something I liked the look of. He even let me put the car up on the hoist and use the rattle gun. Top bloke!
I promised myself I would fix it properly with the right parts when I got home... I never did.
Keep up the great work Eddie!
