Default Thoughts on EFI setup for the track

    Hey Peeps,
I need to setup my car with a proper EFI setup. The car is going to be used on the track so a boot mounted setup would be costly (having to build covers/fire wall for the whole setup). The other issue I have is that the instrument cluster has many issues so I am looking at ripping it out (speedo doesn't work, aftermarket tacho (factory not connected) and the fuel gauge is seized).

So what I am looking at is a proper EFI setup and running a aftermarket fuel gauge in a custom gauge cluster (tacho, oil pressure, boost pressure and fuel gauge).

What I have found so far:

    1. Ae86 JDM fuel tank with good in tank pump
    2. AJPS under car surge tank (need low pressure + high pressure pump, the surge tank and wiring)
    3. S13 tank with good in tank pump (gauge apparently easier to find that suits S13 sender + larger tank capacity)

    Thoughts??

Vl pump, ajps surge should be enough. Others recommend a carter lift pump but I don't think they are necessary personally

I also agree with the above, I think the JDM tanks are a bad option because they are expensive and then they still won't baffle the fuel enough for track use. With the surge tank from Dave you keep the fumes out of the car and you can leave your existing tank as is without any surge issues ever. As for fuel pumps I suggest the two that come standard on a VL and used in the same way- one internal and one external.

I went a bit overboard with mine, as I had a JDM tank in my last car and while its fine for 99% of driving theres the odd moment when you wish it worked better. So now I have a JDM tank with an adm pickup from the swirl pot inside, and then it gets lifted into an external surge tank, then that's sucked dry by a Bosch hp pump and then returns from the rail into the surge tank, which overflows into the main tank. With the swirl pot in the tank feeding the lift pump I should be able to run it really low and never have an issue with fuel surge or supply.
