Nice pick up!
I've been lurking on this forum for a while now but haven't actually had an AE86... Until now. This finally arrived in Canberra for me a few weeks back.
I actually bought in December 2016 (thanks Troy from Iron Chef Imports). It took a while to get to me because it needed some parts for compliance (thanks Jack at Top Secret Imports). It had this awesome JDM-spec exhaust which was being held together by an Asahi can and a few other things that needed doing.
Unfortunately the car carrier company cracked the front bumper somewhere between Sydney and Canberra but they're replacing and paying for paint under insurance, so that's ok.
I finally got the time to work on the car this weekend. I replaced the whitelines with the correct redlines, and swapped out the bride bucket seat for an OEM GT Apex.

The rear axle was also making an awful noise (the main reason it got transported from Sydney to Canberra, rather than driven) so that's now out getting the crown wheel and pinion replaced, and the open centre swapped for a new OS Giken LSD. Looking forward to getting that back, bolting it back in and driving!
Nice pick up!
I'll buy the bride and the taillights

Check the sales section!
Looks good!
Stock 4age running gear?

Probably not the original engine but stock intake manifold with TVIS and MAP sensor. I need a new air filter since the current intake is missing what I assume would have been a foam filter of some kind. It's just an empty funnel. I'll probably need to make some kind of box for ACT rego as well.

Quick question, how do I reply with photos in the body of the post, rather than as thumbnails?
Still waiting on differential parts but I received some goodies from AJPS recently.
Did some painting on the rear suspension parts, then started working on removing the old bushes.
Most of them were pretty average with hardened rubber, but these looked like they'd been replaced pretty recently. Should I still replace them with the superpro ones or leave them since they're in good condition? Thoughts?
Also, I'm missing this exhaust hanger. Does anyone have a spare?
Depends on what kind of bushes they are. The superpro are urethane and harder than stock rubber ones so if they're just oem replacements I would probably change them for the sake of uniformity.

Used a variety of 'special tools' to install the bushes. Old mixer tap and part of an ozito garage vac pipe turned out to be the right sizes to squeeze everything in.
The standard superpro D bush for the rear swaybar didn't fit. The outside diameter was about 5mm out. There wasn't anything else in the superpro catalogue that looked like it would fit so I ended up with a random bush from Pedders. No idea what it's from but it worked.
All back together now and off for an alignment in the new year.
The diff was also built and I've installed it. Very happy with the os giken centre, very not happy with the Weir crown and pinion. It's pretty noisy. Might not matter for a drift application but it's annoying for a street car. The diff shop is going to check it for adjustment in the new year but they're also searching for a second hand OEM 4.3 that will hopefully be quieter.
I also got new tyres for my TE37s and put them on. Turns out a 15x7 TE37 with a 195/50R15 weighs 0.2kg less than an OEM 14 inch with tyre.
Should be ready to try for Canberra registration soon. Only two things to do - build an airbox for the pod filter, and fix a random wiper issue. They're returning to upright rather than the rest position. Looking forward to being able to drive it more regularly!
