my Pivot tacho has signal issues when im over 8000, i just have to guess my rpm so i dont hit the limiter hard. im running an adaptronic . i think it might be just a waveform signal issue from aftermarket ecu's i think.

Hmm I don't know if it's because of an aftermarket ecu as I'm running the stock one. I'm guessing it has something to do with the translation and matching up the signal.

With my car they've done this with resistors I think, does someone know how this works?

I had no issues with my tacho on my GTE with stock ECU so i guess it's the signal wire that is causing the problem. Sorry to hijack but Adz, will WTF do a full rewire of my AE86.

from what i no u have to put a resistor in because the 4ac was a single points pick up and the 4ag is twin or something like that... i dont no. done it ever since the conversion.

tacho has always been iffy. when it was 4ac it used to get jambed because there is a little tensioning screw at the back to preload the needle and it used to get physically stuck at 3000 rpm haha, and i
used to have to tap the dash to get it to go back down.

honestly not at all bothered about the tacho :-)

yeah going good! was at drift practise at barbagello last friday night and had a blast! had a quick squiz over the engine before i left and noticed a crack
around the turbo flange on the stainless china manifold! amazed it even lasted 3 years of torture. so will go 6 boost manifold and garrets 'disco potato' and a retune......

will edit all my night vids together over the next few days and put it on here soon :-)

    cheers!!!

definately the ugliest engine bay on dc but this new setup should easily push it to over 300hp atw. just gotta do retune inlet and dump and thats about it. will have to pull my diff centre out and get the backlash redone too i think... hurt it drifting lasttime on the track. did 55km of drift that night and now its singing on acceleration. all good

my old turbo setup is for sale too if anyone is interested. turbo manifold and dump pipe. made 220rwhp on 14psi

new disco potato has been on for a few months now, made 280hp atw with the worlds shittest designed manifold, but its reliable and cos its cast iron wont crack like my old china stainless setup. will go a kelway steampipe manifold in the future. Went down to collie a month or so ago for 2 days of drifting, had a great time
