what does everyone think about the HSD sleeve kit?
hey guys was just looking on the otomoto website and saw these
they seem really cheap but wonder what the quality is like.

it seems like good value kinda. but only if you want 5kg or 6kg springs.. which are a bit soft for even a light corolla, even if youre more into grip.
the springs look way too long and the "tender" springs, which are really helper springs are kinda too short.
ok if you have a comodore you just want to lower with a bit of adjustability.

fair enough. was just asking the question as i saw them and thought they were cheap.
Klusio has bought a set of these and they are a top quality thing. I have sold my T3 kit and replaced them with one of these. Springs rates start at 5kg and go all the way through till 11kg and everything in between. The components are of good quality and visually look good aswell.
As far as the springs looking to long and the tender springs looking to short, they are very similar lengths to the Quadrant (cost over 2k, custom 40mm shaft insert) struts in the front of my Rally car which work brilliant.
I don't see how you could pass them for price and quality.
Of course, thats my opinion!

well the springs is too long if you own a light car that only uses 3" of travel.
but yeah i did think it odd, even though the add says 5 to 6kg as otomoto do sell the the "HSD" springs in a full range of rates.

I think it was only about 30mm longer than the eibach springs that came with the T3 kit. As I'm sure you know Slydar this can be compensated with the location of the thread when being welded onto your strut tube.

im about to purchace a set and for the price u cant look past it and as for 6kg being too light as long as u have the right shock setup it is perfectly fine thats what i will be running on my corona struts with sw20 shocks.
yeh i think if your suspension is set-up right then 6kg is perfect. you dont use springs to stop body roll, thats why you have swaybars. so 6kg will stiff give a good ride quality and let your suspension actually work. i may have to try these out when i get some money again
for a non base height adj sleeve kit having a 'long' spring isnt a bad thing. the custom compact springs are too short, without using a very short stroke shock (ae92 style)
as long as the sleeve kit is good material, well made threads, the only thing you should be worrying about is who welds it on for you.
i'd say they are probably good enough for most of us on this forum to use and abuse without any troubles.

Shouldn't they be 4 lock nuts, unless they using small screws in the locknuts to keep them in place, very iffy about that. Guess only time will tell.
