20V BT fuel pressure
Hi guys,
I'm from the states..just trying to get my engine running right. You guy seem to have all the JDM stuff figured out
I have:
ae111 ECU
ae111 blacktop engine in good nick
all sensors hooked up (EXCEPT o2 sensor...on the way)
Anyhow, when my engine is cold, the car bogs pretty hard when taking off, once it is fully warm, it's mid range is OK...but not any better than my old 3 rib 16V with TVIS (dead stock). My understanding is the BT is supposed to have more torque down low than the stock 16V?

What is an appropriate fuel pressure at idle? I hooked up a guage before the FPR and after the fuel filter in an ae86. I bounce between 30-32 psi at idle, and when I go to WOT in neutral, it sits dead on at 40psi. Is this correct? The shop manual has no information!
Thanks, look forward to what you guys hve to say. I might try to make the lines longer so i can view the fuel pressure as I go down the road, but I'm worried about making long fuel lines for obvious reasons...
I don't know what the fuel pressure is but am also curious about it...But I do know that when i got my blacktop going with the stock ECU it ran like shit without the oxygen sensor. Some people reckon they dont but Im telling you that it does. Fitted the sensor and runs like a dream. Mine still runs quite rich though....
Unplugged the vacuum lead to the FPR, the pressure sat at 40psi. I think it must work. 40psi max seems like a reasonable pressure for factory I suppose.
The car is still not as fast as I think it should be...feels like 130hp instead of 165 or 170. I guess I'm going to do a compression check after plugging in the o2 sensor and try to figure out what my problem is.
Hey just an update guys, I bought a new 4 - wire universal bosch o2 sensor and the mid-range is much stronger. Be sure to hook up your o2 sensor when you do your swap!

Came across this while searching, could you by any chance post details of how you connected the bosch uni 4 wire o2?
I have one that I would like to connect as my oem one is fairly old now...

O man, I gave up on this. I'm using standalone now. I think my ECU was pulling timing prematurely. Power still isn't great, but it's much better than before.
I used a shop manual to figure out what the wires were on the 20V and used O2 sensor instruction manual, sorry.

Yer, stock ecu's can be a bitch. All sensors need to be good. 40psi is normal.
