yep spot on ... golberg. i tested it by putting my finger over the hole in the throttle body and it dropped down instantly.
any idea on how much thay are?
Yes, chop them up!
No, keep them clean!
Your high idle is probably because the wax idle up valve in the throttle body is rooted, either that or you don't have water lines connected to it.
Common problem on all 16v's.

$300 Trade from Toyota.
If you're not running power steering or aircon just unscrew the beast and bin it. You'll then need to make a block off plate to screw back in and seal it up.
If you want to get that perfect factory idle warm or cold you'll need to buy a new one though.
I've seen some come back from the dead though, if you get the engine up to running temp and keep it going for a while sometimes they will unstick. 95% of the time they are dead though. They seem to die most often from unuse for a period of time.

mine was like this and me and golberg plugged the hole with some steel hardening putty worked a treat and i didnt make the block off plate so it all looks factory on my second jdm throttle body now had to do it on my second 1 aswell
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
Yeah good point, had forgotten I did that for you too.
The stuff is called quick steel.
well i got some good news then ... it came back from the dead ...
today i took it off along with the rest of my throttle body and i just went nuts and took everything apart and cleaned it all then i put it all back together and BAM! idle is now at 1000RPM.
i also today rolled my rear guards with the assistance of the borrowed guard roller from the local panel shop.
and i welded my new exhaust tip on... a nice 3" stainless tip.
so i went to check my timing today after i had fixed the idle up but it appears i am 1 tooth out on my dizzy so ill fix that up tomorrow at lunch, then i will set up my TPS properly to bring the idle down to 800RPM like it should be. I will also secure my battery properly into the boot.
also i have a small problem with my computer ... it is draining my battery ... with its memory power wire ... i have it running threw a 10A fuse and then to the power line from the battery just as if it was connected like the stop lamp fuse set up which they are supposed to run off. is there anything special about the stop lamp fuse that make it so it doesn't drain power?

You ECU shouldn't be doing that if its hooked up correctly.
There is nothing special about how it connects to the stop fuse, its simply a battery feed to keep memory of check codes.
As for the TB did you clean it with any particular chemicals?
The one on my red corolla is half dead, so depending on what you used I might give it a go and see if I can get it to idle lower when cold. (It sits at 2000rpm when cold) which is still too high even when cold.
i just used some brake and parts cleaner on it and then the idle speed controller got some inox sprayed into it... also check the other things on your throttle body as they could be the problem ... as im not exactly sure what fixed it but now the idle is at 1000 and it drops down when warm.

the ECU was all done by my local auto sparky who did my loom. and for some reason it drains power from my battery .. and i know its the computer memory wire because it stops the drain when i remove the fuse.
