you dont need one because your engine has quads ... it plays its own music

Ok so results of todays blue slip ... that didnt get done as a blue slip... meaning i ended up with another list.


ok so the list is as follows.

1. Oil leaks ...
2. Open pod filter
3. No high beam
4. Front parkers
5. Steering rack
6. Front seats.

now my ideas to fix.

1. Find and seal
2. Make a box around it
3. Remove headlight switch and re-solder all contacts
4. Make my own outer lens
5. New steering rack
6. Borrow standard seats


also i did some more tests into my suspected blown head. before driving it today i cleaned out the oil cap. after the drive it was milky there but not in the sump ...
i have alot of Blow by ... when i went to remove the fill cap a fuck load of air rushed out around it... almost like opening a bottle of coke.
a compression test revealed that compression is good.
cyl 1. 195psi
cyl 2. 190psi
cyl 3. 195psi
cyl 4. 180psi

my water level in the radiator also dropped after driving.

That's a bit lame knocking it back for the parkers. No high beam though is fair enough.

so today this received a nice custom made alloy air box, which is half installed. ill get pic's of this tomorrow.

my 86 also came home today ... i have 2 weeks off from tomorrow that ill be working on this nonstop to get rego. i paid for a steering rack and i am just waiting for it to arrive.

im also going to try a different blueslip place that from what i have heard is a little dodgy ... so hopefully they will overlook a few things for me.

Rack finally turned uptoday, and ive just spent about 3 hours putting it in, in my garage floor. it is a fuck load better, but after playing with some parts i think that the main problem was the uni joint that connects the steering shaft to the rack ... the old one was seized up rather good.

but its all in now and my wheel returns nicely and the steering feels lighter.

so tomorrow will be going to try for a blueslip again.
