    Haha cheers mate,

ive got the block and head separated on the 20V, the bores look good in it, still has cross hatching, ive already been cleaning the block, tomorrow ill try and pull the pistons out so i can clean them up, then ill start striping the head down so i can get to work on it, gonna work the valves maybe throw some upgraded springs in there. ill probably shave the head a little bit and do a little port & polish work.

in the way of mods for this engine i currently only have some adjustable cam gears but ill be getting some H beam rods and some better valve springs and cams.

Are you doing any serious porting or just a general cleanup and de-dagging? Just that it's very easy to lose a fair amount of air flow porting heads if you're not exactly sure what you're doing. Not having a go or doubting your abilities, you've done a really nice job so far.

im not going crazy on it, the head is already a very good design.
all i have done is sand the exhaust side smooth, just with sand paper on a drill starting corse and then moving on to the fine stuff. and for the intake side all i have done is clean off the casting dags.

you can see the ports are polished up compared to the rest of the head.

16V is broken. cylinders 2 & 3 have been lost. hopefully its just the head gasket blown out between the two cylinders.

ive also ordered some H beam rods for my 20V.

    HUGE Win today.

ripped my head off and its exactly as i expected. the H/G blew out between the 2 cylinders.

so ill hand machine the block with sand paper and ill take my head into my work and give it a quick skim over with our head cutter.

20V is almost ready to put together fully. the head is currently being fitted with toda valve springs. then ill give it a light shave and bolt it on.

i also had my AE86 on the dyno the other day. after fixing the head gasket the motor ran alot better. and the light skim i did to the head boosted power a decent amount.

    heres the video,

i also have sent my diff center away to have the LSD rebuilt and another set of 4.3:1 gears put in as my last ones got ruined... again.
so with a fresh set from japan i should have that back in before the weekend. im currently driving on a welded 3.9:1 diff center which is fun but i miss the 4.3:1 gears.
