ppl still drive 300zx?

Going back a few pages...
but has anyone in Aus run R1 carbies?
This was a path I was looking at going down, nearly as good as quads for power, ease of carby tuning, and the weight loss (cast inlet manifold, ecu, lots of wiring etc all removed)
However I was watching an old Option video a while back comparing Imamura's AE86 against Ueo's AE86.
While Imamura's FCR carby equipped Trueno made around 210ps (vs Ueo's 180ps with quads), Imamura agreed that Ueo's car had much better response and was easier to drive.
Thoughts?
well, air temp, speed, etc aren't measured with carb, as they are with efi cars, so there there is the difference in overall drivability.
usually carbs cannot atomise fuel as quick as injectors can, so down low, where air speed isn't that great, and there is nothing that violent happening, fuel does not atomise properly, and will allow the engine to run rich just after say 5% throttle. Most tuners, compensate the fuel not atomising correctly by adding more fuel, but when you start to get into it, there is unatomised fuel now entering the cylinder, resulting in a rich mixture.
Thats how I understood it, when I was taught a little about tuning carbs, on an alfa 1.8.
just found out that my girlfriend works with Bob Holdens wife. use should know who he is.
that be him , he is nearly 80 and still doing a few races.
once its in your blood.
