rebuilding motor?

so ive got this nice rattle noise coming from my motor in the sprinter when it revvs to about 3000rpm , so im guessing my bottom end is gone , anyone have a rough guess on what it would cost with having a mechanic to do a rebuild on 16v 4age? i would pull out a motor and put in a new one but i dont trust myself to go pulling the motor apart myself haha , i would more then likely stuff more shit. also pretty much tell me if my motor is bigport or smallport , im going with bigport.

its small port, look at your intake manifold, its been cut and shut.

yer thats why i was getting cunfused , i was reading the info about 4age's and it said ones with red lettering are bigport but unless its had the cut and shut manifold put on , guess the only was to find out is to take the manifold off , that means effort haha.

its a Bigport 7rib with a fwd bigport manifold cut and shut to suit RWD
