    ski'ing for me!

been to the snow twice now, just perisha/blue cow.

dont have any gear, cept for gloves/goggles.

im just a tourist really, but damn its fun! i went down this year (beginning of august) and i was getting quite good at it.

id like to give snowboarding ago, but might have to wait for when i go for more than a week.

The first time i ever went to the snow i skied..... and i enjoyed it.... as much as you can enjoy skiing he he. the next year i went back i srapped on a snow board, do your self a favor and leave the dark side and come to the glorious side of the snow board. It takes a little bit more to get the hang of than skiing but the hard work is well worth the effort. you can stop zig zagging going down a run and getting in everyones way, and start opening your eyes to all the little jumps, kicks, drop offs and things to jib. the mountain stops being a ski run and turns into Gods playground for the snowboarder.

    in short ditch the skis!!

not really into burton, to much of it around just seems like they are in it for the money? i like that the lib techs are hand made by snowboarders and riden by the guys who make them. Plus rice rides one!

i love finding fresh tracks threw trees and hitting jumps and kickers on the way threw. havent really had the pleasure of riding powder, with a better a board i think i will like the park jumps (not the huge ones thats just crazy!) from what i have read the skate banana just yums it all up.

Get a GNU carbon credit then
They are made by Mervin manufacturing, same guys who do libtech.
Comes with banana tech and MTX (same as my libtech travis rice) and about half the price.
Great intermediate all mountain/freestyle board you can cut almost anything up with.
Check out sierrasnowboard.com, and use bongous to do mail forwarding from the US (some brands don't allow shops in the US to send overseas)
A skate banana is more freestyle oriented, I think you would have a harder time in trees and freeriding.

It's true Burton do get a really bad rap from the haters from all their brand whoring, but to be honest, they make really good shit.
The custom is still one of the best boards in the world. It's like the porsche 911 of snowboards.

I haven't seen the park pickle
And from my experience with park boards is that you will be limited in what you can and can't do outside of the park and resort runs.
I would get the carbon credit, maybe if you want to be more freestyle orientated then go down a size for a shorter board. Ie 6 foot 1 82kgs would get a 162cm board normally, get a 157cm board if you want a bit more freestyle action.
Make sure the waist widths are still the same size/appropriate for your feet sizing.

    Don't buy boards in Aus
my Libtech was $1200 in shops here
I got it, my boots and bindings for less then that from the states.
If I bought all that gear here it would have cost me over $2000.

use a mailforwarding company such as bongous if they can't sell the certain brand you want to a foreign country.
