hey guys just bought a ke70 today, has 4k with extractors and some uni filter, im getting a carby kit and pump tommorow, cause car hasnt been running 4 over a year, what little mods can i do to improve it??

blow-thru turbo would prob be best bet, 4k is worth peanuts dont stress bout blowing it just while your having fun with it save for 4ag or get ae71

Buy new spark plugs, cut the washer off the plug. This gives a frack more compression, wind the timing like stated above and run ultimate. This is dodge but then again it is a 4k. One other easy way is too put AGE after the 4!!![]()

lots of cool information on rolla club about K motors.
i tried to play with my old K motor, put a niki carb on it (gemini/626). that made a bit of difference.
if you already have some nice extractors, then i suggest a nice free flowing exhaust. then rip that head off and get it shaved for more compression. find a cheap cam shaft, or get yours reground (alot cheaper than i thought, like 200$ or even less). best part is you can set the valve clearances easily.
find yourself a webber carby if your keen, put a kit through it, might cost you a bit though.
if your really keen, you can get some twin side draft carbys, delorato? or whatever they are called. or the "SU" carbys. youll need a new inlet manifold for that. and youll need to get them jetted/tuned for your car. quite an expensive option, but from what ive heard well worth it (if you have supporting mods, ie compression exhaust etc)
however......i hear of guys spending thousands on K motors, and still not getting the power and most importantly drive ability (street) of a bigport 4age.
but on the other hand, K motors are bullet proof and extremely easy to work on. so can be alot of fun playing with them. and if you screw up, a new one can be had for cheap or sometimes free. (i sold a complete perfect condition 4k with gearbox for $100)
one day im going to get keen and build myself a nice K motor, mainly for the experience, rather than the power.
just for instance there is a guy wtih 150hp from a K motor in a rally car on rollaclub. bet its a pain in the ass to drive on the street though!!

most of the lack of power comes from drive train loss, easiest way to fix this is to remove the gear box, tail shaft, diff, body etc from the engine. Thus leaving the engine on your front lawn.

run it on avgas and crank up the timing? just put the money into a piggybank for a conversion of some sorts
Easiest way to get more power from a 4k:
Pull it out, fit a 5k in it's place. Takes all of a few hours to do, and the most bare essential tools.
