GOOD thread (Y)
Its pretty common knowledge that some fairly decent shocks can be had for the rear end of a e chassis, including wagon, for a pretty decent price. Obviously better stuff is on the market, such as trds tokicos etc. But here is a list of what can fit well and is more commonly available and can work for your budget or setup needs.
Measurement Guide:
Front Shocks (inserts):
Extended Length = Extended length is from the bottom of the shock, to the bottom of the thread. (Not necessarily where the top spring carrier sits.)
Body Length = Bottom of the body, to the top... pretty straight forward.
Stroke Length = Extended length - Body... again, straight forward.
Rear Shocks (eye bottom, pin top):
Extended length = Center of the eye, to the bottom of the pin.
Body Length = Bottom of the body, to the top...
Closed Length = Center of the eye, to the bottom of the pin when compressed

GOOD thread (Y)
Ke70 front struts - 41mm OD
Ae86 struts - 50mm OD
Any irs rear cleica will need longer rear shocks as short stroke rears to suit ae86 are pretty short.
there is a model of kyb agx that fits the ae86,
i thinks its a holden monaro or something, 8 way adjustable.
if someone knows about that it would be great
For the front there is the Celica shocks in the agx st185 , they are a bit shorter then ae86 shocks so good for coil overs or you can use spacers to prop them up higher
I should have mentioned i was talking about the rear of an 86
i got a set of jag shocks from work.. they seem like theyd fit straight in..
i'll get measurements this week. rose joint bottom too.
