Yeah i told him i'd rather it was consistent, driveable and safe than make like 5 kw more. Its not stupid rich though, just can be a bit stinky on occasion
Now i know you guys are going to flame me for this, but I also got the tune done on premium instead of ultimate

And he did say that he thought it would make more than it did but when he wound more timing on it wasn't helping. it made 72KW.

Fck Boost Tossers...Fueltech ftw...Ain't signing no bloody waiver you fckstn

i cant understand why you dont get it..... when i was there a guy bought his car in after he had spent a heap on the engine, made good numbers, then half way through a run the tailshaft broke and ripped a reasonable hole in the floor. thats what the waiver is there to cover, shit that they have no control over. owner said car was right to run therefore it wasnt their fault.
If they strapped your car on, you said that it would spin to 10000rpm signed the waiver stating that. then if a conrod came out cos some retard had over tensioned one of the bigend studs when it was only spinning at 6000rpm on a ramp its not their fault.
sherriff is a bit of a dick but he does do good work.

    Brad...

The thing is I do get it....lol...chances are it may come out of the shop with a blown motor..a slim chance, but too big a chance for me to take....as for a rod letting go, surely if a knock box is hooked up a noise would be heard before it went before it let go properly and motor would be shut down....or does he not care enough and keep his boot into it when a noise is heard???....

I was probably still high on petrol fumes and adrenaline after the mad bitch started and settled into a seriosly lopey 2000rpm idle...car was shaking and shed filled with sooty exhaust fumes...lol...(oversized injectors and computer that thinks the motor is at WOT are the reason, thus the need for a tune)

Now who in their right mind would take their car to a tuner who did not inspire confidence with statements like - "you need to sign a waiver removing responsibility from us" and " I won't be held responsible for a poor tune"... ,??????

especially after I have invested lots of money in parts, time and attention to detail...

I was not exactly dissing your workplace, just making a hasty comment I guess,(insert small apology) with a reference to my preference of tuner - someone who comes with nothing but good reports from people who have been there.....

    Regards

    Scott

meh im not fussed i just dont think its right to dis a whole workshop of competent mechanics cause u hav a mis guidedd opinion.
from what i no is that it will be very difficult to road tune such an engine due to requiring tps tunning, and last time i checked fueltech didint have a dyno. im not dissing pete and co i have no reason too.
personally i dont really care as to who tunes your car or how well it is done, i worked at boost for over 2 years, they are not tossers.

any way i have three testicles so i win

boost have been really good to me so far i have no complaints, they call me and give me options on what ever needs doing , and check with me befor doing it. cant ask for much more. maybe a cheaper price lol, but everyone is after somthing for nothing lol

being a business owner my self i know where boost is coming from you have to cover your ass.

Good to see someone does not take themselves too seriously...GOLD

Think you need to re read what I wrote before you get too carried away...Just hope Brad reads this then he might think about changing his pig headed attitude before he tries to flog me a Haltech...

If Tec Arts can tune wilder motors than mine with the same computer then there should not be a problem...each to there own...not fussed myself, sooner see my motor come back in one piece...

    Regards

    Scott..

Oh yeah... peace...not trying to start a flame war...

Update...re scaled the injectors and it now blows less soot...yay

what ecu are you using ?

and i read someone saying about tuning by tps ? this is needed when running quad throttles and large camshafts... with the autronic ecu you can tune fuel by map sensor and igntion timing by tps this gives smoother drivability than just a map based tune

oh and about the waiver.. this is a good idea as its normally an unpsoken thing.. i dont think there is ever a tuner that will take responsability of something letting go.. unless its clearly there fault, obviously we all take the most care when tuning a car, being carefull not to over heat engines, gearboxes or letting it detonate,

but for instance ive even had to refuse to tune a car due to tar like engine oil and no water in the radiator...

no tuner can controll when a gearbox, tailshaft or even the engine let go.. but if we hear something like a bearing knock or similar then its obvious to stop the car and end the tuning.. no one would be stupid enough to continue

Yeah the "not ancient" version of the adaptronic does that to but I got ripped by a scum bag and ended up with the old version.
