im lookin at using a g142 hilux diff, do you know anyone who does conversions to disc, ive heard using ma70 discs works but a bit worried about doin the conversion myself, and also looking for front stub axles to suit 86 struts but have the same falcon/toyota stud pattern

i THINK .... fark what was his name....... fancy blue car fella with no sense of humour .... he did a bit of fabricating to run something like that

quick question as i kow some people have done the coil over weld on kits

when you cut the strut tube down..... how do you get the thread back on top for the gland nut.... or am i better off just using a spacer for the insert

you cut a section out below the thread and weld it back on, you work out your desired section to be cut out which i guess would the same as the length of the spacer you would use for the insert
do a decent weld!!! or pay weldlogic to do the coilovers for you

oh, hi, i'm new to tas, jus moved here
will post up some pics of my car and plans for it, hope to see you all about

the welding is not an issue.... got that covered.

what would you use to get the cut tru ? as if you got the cut wrong it would not go back on properly.

do i have to cut the section out to get really low or can i use a spacer and just weld the sleve on lower ?

Oh and welcome.... get some pics up

ive seen a few stateside...never really took my attention...so never checked back to see the finished article...

as for the coilovers...welding the coil-over sleeve lower on the strut would reduce the available stroke for the shock and limit its effectiveness would it not??

nah lazy, when you buy kybs they are shorter than the strut hence the spacer supplied.
some people piss the spacer off and cut that section out of the strut itself, thus needing no spacer, sitting flush in the strut and of course, for our daimon sheltons, sits lower with a full shock stroke available
