Default oscars peg leg ae86 20v

this is my 1984 adm ae86 sprinter, it has been fitted with:
    s/t 4age 20v around 80,000km in very good condition.
blacktop itb setup with 70mm t3 trumpets.
    big ass alloy radiator.
    rwd water pump conversion.
full custom 2 1/4 exhaust system with twin pipes.
hsd front coilovers 6kg springs cusco camber tops.
pedders stiff as f#*k rear springs and shocks.
    sigma lower controll arms.
set of koya ae-tek 15x8 +o rims with stretched tyres.
    full re-spray gunmetal grey.
was running an adaptronic e420c and ran 127.1hp@wheels but was limiting at 7,000rpm and couldnt be set any higher so sold it and am now looking for a new ecu and loom.
let me know what you think...

Wat exactly was limiting it to 7,000rpm? Surely not the ecu? Tune maybe..i assure u ppl with adaptronics are going well beyond that!! Adaptronic is easily the best bang for buck!!

yeah i run the older adaptronic and mines limited to like 7800rpm. its a piece of piss to change it though and i don't know if it has any limits, also you could set it to fuel or ign cut or both!

yeah i spent $1100 on the dyno and set it at 9,000rpm and it kept comming in at 7,000rpm and after that the map sensor shat it self it was a nightmare and i still had to pay for the work when the car was pretty much useless it would start to make power the the limiter would come in, seriously gay...not sure what ecu i should run now any sugestions???

Shit! Im pretty happy with mine but then i picked mine up for $400 and it only cost $500 for the tune. To be honest I i reckon the best bang for buck ecu is the adaptronic and I imagine the fault would be someone in the wiring or the signals to the ecu, cos if there was a fault in the ecu it would just not work at all usually. What i would do is go to your tuner and find out what they are happiest tuning and go from there, even if they want to use something really basic like a microtec. Simply because the odds are you'll get a better tune and therefore better driving out of that ecu. Stay away from wolf ecu cos i've heard they are a bitch, and don't bother mucking around with ecu's all the sick difters in J land are using ie. freedom. Cos odds are no one over here will know them properly.

i will never go another adaptronic it took no shit 2 weeks in the workshop and 20 hours on the dyno it was a $2000 job but as it wasnt anyones fault i only got charged $1100 and after all that as soon as you try to slide it, it would just go straight to limiter and was useless. i was thinking i might go microtech lt-10s coz there only $1050 wirh loom delivered to my door.

I had a similar problem with my blacktop running on adaptronic. You have to put two 1k resistors in the cas wiring. One across the reset signal and one that bridges the reset signal and the cas ground wire. If you don't do this is picks up false signals and feels like a rev limiter at about 7k. It has a diagram in the software when you choose that its a 4AGE. Although you may have had a completely different problem.
