if you change the injectors to ANYTHING except stock then you need an aftermarket ecu to control them.
there are many injectors that "FIT" but if you just plug them in they will be different sizes and thus wont work properly with standard ecu.
if you think yours are stuffed then pick up some new ones (i have some if you want to buy them) then take them to an injector cleaning service where they will run them through their awesome machine, and change all the seals. you will then have a brand new set of injectors to use.
btw all injectors tick....its when they dont tick you have to worry.

LOL
what exactly do you smoke that makes you worry about injector ticking noises? i mean .. if you can hear that shit over your exhaust something's wrong. or you're a dog in a human body?

Injectors usually make some noise. If anything take them out and have them cleaned and flow tested. Small port are like 210cc each over the 182cc that bigport is. You will be over fueling like crazy plus the plugs are different. (could be wrong aobut injector sizes, been a while since i looked into it)
Clean and flow test would be best.

ta, well yeah i can hear them over my exhaust when idleing (fairly sure and hopeing its injectors) and my exhaust is trd copy extractors with 2.25 catback its not really silent either, so indicates how much ticking noise there is, btw thats with hood closed.

just had a listen then, sounds like the most vibration / noise is @ bottom of injectors
judgeing by the way seamus told me to have a listen ( screwdriver to the ear )

i mentioned he *might* need a valve adjustment, especially if he can hear the noise clearly over his (supposedly loud) exhaust

HIJACK!
im going aftermarket ecu (greedy emanage) and im wondering what other upgrades are a direct bolt in 4agze are a popular choice and is it the 7mtge aswell? just wondering whats abit newer and abit easier to find that can do teh same job
also the engine will be bored 40thou, 264 or 272 cams, and oversized in & ex valves

I assume this is N/A
7mgte are 440cc, and will work. Probably as big as you would ever need to go. The only draw back IS, they are high resistance(Ohm) injector, which makes fine tuning a little trickier.
AS FOR YOUR TICKING NOISE!!!! CHECK THE VALVE CLEARANCES. IF YOUR INJECTORS WHERE THAT FUCKED THEY WOULDN'T WORK
IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT FEELER GAUGE'S ARE, THEN LOOK THEM UP.

sorry forgot about this since i dont drive my car cause i hate that noise,
yer im not too mechanical minded, i did what 70xin told me to do with the screw driver (plastic end to ear and put it against injectors, lots of vibrating / ticking noise from injectors but couldnt hear none from rocker cover ? if its valve clearance 100% i guess il just bite the bullet n pay someone to fix it up i guess

Buddy check it first before you pay someone too. Go to your local automotive shop, and buy a set of feelers gauges. They are around $10.
Then pull your rocker covers off, and use the gauges to check if they are in spec.
If you need more info, as in you are actually considering checking it yourself. Then shoot me a Pm, and i'll send you the info you need on how to do it.
Cheers tristan
