Car - AE71

use - street

problem - trying to fit AE86 struts and the stearing arms will not locate in

occurs/started when - changing over the Ae71 struts to AE86 item

personal situation -

Im trying to put the AE86 struts into a stock AE71, the two locating bushes in the stearing arms for the bottom 2 bolts just will not mate up to the struts.

are they compatable?
i have tried so many different ways and i can only get one bolt in and the other one just will not line up.

i measured the AE71 bushes and they are 102mm spacing and the struts are only 100mm? are they suposed to crush a little when fitted? i would have thought 2mm was a bit much?

any help would be great

yeh mate, they are not compatable, you will need some ae86 arms (corona fit but they are loooooooong). even stock ae86 arms will be fine, chuck some spacers in the rack for some more lock while your doing it too (if your chasing more lock that is ).

corona are easy enough to find but.

svenmate has a way round it that he is using on his at the moment which involves grinding and a smaller bolt ;) bit dodgy though...

i'd just go and grab a pair of xt130 control arms with the steering arms still on them. That would be the least work and thats what im all about hahaha
