Car - AE86

motor - 3SGE Beams and 6 speed

use - fills my carport up

problem - need a clutch slave

I need a clutch slave for my 3SGE Beams J160 6 speed gearbox. Ive just searched for 3 hours and I cant find shit. Then again im probably not asking the right questions. And from what i can rear, some people are saying that different toyota slaves will bolt up and work fine.

My question is... do I have to use a legit 3SGE Beams 6 speed slave.... or will another model fit. If I must use the 6 speed slave, where can i find one online? As Im finding there arent enough hours in the day to get everything done ATM. And If I dont find one, i wont make the annual. Ill try ringing toyota tomorrow during the day.

And what clutch line will i need? I currently have a OEM 86 clutch slave and a braided clutch line.

Also, does anyone know what size the fitting is that the AE86 clutch master reservoir screws into? As I need to make up a new linee for a remote resevoir.

Cheers.

that clutch line will work fine. from memory the slave is a pretty std rhs style slave. so you could try hilux, t18 or even jdm ae86.

i think aus delivered IS200 has the slave on the opp side as 1G's flow the other way. :(

Thanks Anthony...

This is what made me wonder about using different slaves...

"The J160 is the 6 speed as used in the SXE10/GXE10 Altezza and was supplied to Toyota by Aisin (AZ6) and is the same gearbox used by the Mazda MX5/Miata, Mazda RX8 and Nissan S15"

So im wondering if a slave off of one of them will fit, but it might/most probably will have a different clutch line? Should be fairly easy to get hold of one of them...

It also seems that the J160 slave is a much larger bore than others... 15/16 apparently.

i can more then likely line one up from toyota nz as that is were i get all my beams parts as toyota australia are hopeless when it comes to japanese motors.

I can actually get them right here in SA thanks to CMI Toyota... but I need to figure out if I need Pre or Post may 2000, and they're 3 weeks ex japan> So I wont make the annual.

will my 86 line screw into it?

And Im using an exedy hyper-metal super single, wont be too much? I guess I can use it to get me through the annual and swap it out after?

i wouldn't worry about swapping it over, they are probably pretty much identical. And i would also put money on it fitting your 86 line

When I had a 6 speed laying around I compared it's slave to my AE86 one and it appeared pretty much identical.
