Did a bit yesterday. Machined the rotors, new shock bushes that fit as i was using patrol shocks and the lower bush is a bigger diameter, gave it an oil change, chopped the rear springs (again) and now i need a new exhaust as its was draging on the way home as its only 25mm of the ground now.

Sits at 3500rpm at 110km/h on the highway. I lol'd. Its got plenty of toqure tho. I need to suss a different final drive and needs moar top end.

Might go do some work on the 86 today tho.

Its like a proper old mans car, slow, comfy and full of rattles. Its got punch but its all under 6000rpm prob even 5500 max. Completely not what im used to. But it does what i set out to do with the 3s, its very responsive, fuckloads of torque and alot of fun. Its just hard to remeber that its really really low with the lip on, and slides are best done 1 gear higher.

The only thing that pisses me off is i mounted the motor to low lol, sump hits the crossmemeber. That and the starter, needs to be shaved down like 5-6mm.

Finally sorted the cam cover baffle, pulled spacers out of engine mounts and gave it a tickle. Went for a drive and its finnally not leaking something. Tune is still on the shady side staring ar 13.5 tapering down to 10:1 afr but shes in tow car spec at the moment anyway. Maybe ill finally get around to doing some nice cruisey drives for a bit then see whats needed for roady.

Cam gears are the JASMA ebay thigbobs, they appear to be fari decent, my 3s ones are just cut up stock gears with the adjustable centers. Theyre from malaysia tho. Cost me fuck all tho so i dont care.

So another chapter in the book i guess. Spent all week trying new maps thanks to our dear friends on here. Ive finally got something workable, its not as good as my first setup but its far more stable and doesnt kangaroo anymore. Doesnt bake 4th either but anyway. Put a lock spacer on today, the ps arms hit the LCA but i think RCA's will solve that but even Dooley said Hooley! bullshit lock. Still pulls on the hiway too so im happy. Im fairly certain it just needs bigger cams to get it up over 6k but for the moment ill think about it.

Bought some gze injectors, got my rear camber kit and a new led parker. Other than that, ill just fine tune my do hickies and drive it around druing business hours. I need new rear tyres tho and 14's arnt really up to the fast stuff but meh.

i did that too. Hi-comp grenade for the win. Wades have some decent regrinds/profiles for the 3s and are about 100 bux per stick from memory. Check out their website. The gen1 cams are also sometimes used for turbo upgrades as they have decent lift on them over the gte sticks

Car now has to be inspected for compliance through DOT as the have no/lost the records of it being registered in Australia. It was originally imported under the pre '89 scheme and is Blue plated for compliance which makes it nither of the 2 options listed on the QLD roadworthy sheets. I will kick the fuckers in the fanny if they destroy my door cars inspecting for side intrusion bars.

maybe. airfilters didnt last long, first backfire and bam! theyre have holes in them now.

I got around to tuning it a bit, the o2 sensor had to be recalibrated so i could read the majic that happens in teh motor. Fucks me why it does a perfect burn near stoich and still spits flames. So annoying.

willa - i started with advancing the intake 5 degrees and retarding th exhaust 5 degrees. It gave it to much bottome end though and disliked revving. Its now set at advance 2 intake and retared 1 exhaust.

Kinda, you just gotta get the feel for it. My 3s runs pretty standard timing up till about 4000rpm anyway. Higher revs need less advance. My cams are tiny 244's though so whatever id don wont make much of an improvement.
