I'm tying to debug my motor problems. Would some one be kind enough to take a picture of the cams at TDC cylinder one? I just need to know if got it I'm the ballpark as my cam gears are modified.

Also what stroke is the egine about to do (intake, spark, compression, exhust) when at TDC cylinder 1?4age Cam Positions (tdc)

Get number 4 cylinder valves/lobes rocking and the number 1 cylinder will be a TDC. That will give you a ballpark. If you want it exact you will need a degree wheel and a dial indicator.

It will be compression one number 1 cylinder at TDC.... So both lobes (exhaust and intake)will be on the flat side pushing on the valves

HOT TIP

i know for certain the intake cam has a little tic tac shaped indent in it. when it faces straight up "visible through oil cap hole" thats no1 TDC. i can only assume the exhaust cam has the same....

The cam gears have a hole for the dowel on the cam. This is visible near the washer under the main bolt. This should be facing up on both cams when the crank is on 0.

on my engine the inlet cam dowel is facing up and the exhaust is almost facing down when the crank is on 0

If one dowel is up when the other is down, it just means you have 2 exhaust cams, or 2 inlet cams. Does not matter, as they are both the same apart from the dowel.

i cant have two exhaust cams as only one has the gear that spins the dizzy, so if u had both the same how would the car run wouldn't it be hard to fit one of the cams?

4a wagon is right. The cam gears have to holes were the knock pin can go, but my modded (ajusable) cams only have one which was causing problems
