I am trying to get a friends car started again after making too many changes. Its a AE86 (or course) with 4A-GE, and a 4A-GZE crank angle sensor. Been playing around with the MicroTech too much. The owner originaly had the CAS timed to 0 at the crank, with a extra 10 degrees timing on the MicroTech.

With the cover off, what does the CAS look like then the crank is on 10 degrees?

OK I am tied and I should know this.

I was thinking I should line the CAS up when the crank is at 10 degrees, and have the static timing in the MicroTech 10 degrees, and ignition timing at idle around 10-15 degrees in the microTech. Should this run?

It seams the Microtech makes the timing the same as static timing when cranking.

With the CAS cover off, the rotor should be just past the first (left hand as your looking at it) pickup. Thats at 10deg. At zero it should be lined up with the pickup.
With my microtech its exactly as your saying. 10 at the CAS, static timing as 10 on microtech and 10-15 at idle.
