I'm just wondering if you can gain any power by advancing the inlet cam a fraction? Or is there not much to be gained with the standard cams.
Also I want to go aftermarket cams eventually but i spoke to a cam regrinder and he said there wouldn't be much to gain unless i went with cams bigger than about 272 on my engine, which ofcourse means aftermarket ecu and alot of mucking around. I was planning on just going 264 inlet and 256 exhaust so i can run the standard computer, and was hoping for maybe an extra 10kw at the engine when tuned.
Anyone gained anything from 264 or smaller duration cams or is it just a waste of money?
I'm not looking for insane power, and am happy to keep the standard ecu, but i would like a little more go, my bigport has 71kw atw. I would be real happy with 80kw atw, so about 100kw at the engine.
Cheers.
