NA vls are 25 spline, same as r31 pintara
VLT and all skyline r31s are 28 spline

manuals are 3.7
autos are 3.9
pintaras are 4.11 regardless of trans

the LSDs are useless, better than a one legger but not much better.

kaaz make a 2 way, but requires machining to the pinion gear to make it fit.

I'm not really answering your question here but i have to mention that stock R31 rear calipers are crap.

I havent had good experiences with them, the handbrake always sticks on, very annoying.

yes they are shithouse

vb-vs calipers bolt on, are the same but without the lever handbrake mechanism.

cheers, now blown 86, u say use the 28 spline 4 pinion version, does the pintara crown and pinion fit into this, as i wouldn't mind a 4.11:1 with stronger 28 spline axles, can that be done???

if anyone in melbourne reads this, who do they recomend??

what actuates the handbrake then, internal shoe type, ie. like a falcon, i work at ford so yeah.

will a hydro handbrake fix this problem

yep, that's what I did although aftermarket, the lsd diffs are 28 and 4 and came in the pintara so you can get the 114.3 pcd axles.
You can use any of the CWPs with the lsd centres.

BTW aren't VP to VS rear brake callipers handbrake?
I'm sure at least the VR ditched the banskia handbrake and used handbrake callipers??

sweet, so thats the go, its gonna be behind a ca18det and minispooled, so the calipers that are the go are vb - vl, are vl and 31 rear calipers the same by any chance???

still need to know does a hydro handbrake fix this

Not sure about VL and R31 callipers being the same, if you go hydraulic handbrake doesn't matter,

Ratcheting hydraulic hanbrake...

yes the commodore uses drum handbrake inside the dome of the disc (same as r32 ect). this is the problem with hydros and r31 diffs, either have a cable handbrake or a hydro. unless you make custom brackets for other calipers.

if you want a 4.11, get a whole pintara diff, get a skyline 28 spline spool off ebay and some skyline axles, put the minispool in and swap the axles (would be a good idea to get new bearings, or at least use the races out of the donor skyline diff)

to answer your questions in the first post. yes, they are very strong diffs. the crownwheels very rarely break, its usually the axles that go first (very rare too). they all whine on the freeway, some so it all the time, some do it only on throttle. you get used to it, but don't bother trying to get it quieter. borg warners always whine

I can confirm that they are very strong, my mate has 380rwks in his R31 with the std diff just got a mini spool.
He launches off a transbreak with full 10" slicks, if that doesn't break the diff I don't know what will, lol
