Hi guys.

I spent most of the weekend fitting my BC coilovers, T3 big brake kit, T3 lower control arms, brand new Ae86 hubs from Toyota and tie rod ends and polyurathane bushes to my Ae71 corolla. The problem is that the rotors sit too close to the brake caliper bracket and I can't even get the alloy T3 bracket mounted. There just does not seem to be enough space. I know a few of you has fitted this brake kit. Can anyone give me any advise please?

arn't they made for ae86 struts?

Yeah mate the BC coilovers are for an Ae86. That's why I can't figure out what's going on.

The bracket goes on the other side of the stock caliper bracket.

Heres how it should look...21723

That's how I've put it together but the rotor pushes against the alloy bracket before the hub is all the way home. From the picture it almost looks like your original calliper bracket is different to mine though.

I don't know if your comment was sarcasm or not, but the struts are different

No sarcasm mate. Maybe just a bit unsure of what you're asking but everything I've bought so far is for Ae86. The struts, the brake kit, the lower control arms and tie rod ends as well as the hubs. I even tried to fit the brake kit on my ae71 spindles but it's almost the same outcome. I'm pretty sure my original brake calliper mounting plates does'nt look like the picture that little red spirit posted.

He has BC AE86 coilovers is what I think he is saying. Maybe you have the bracket on backwards?

I've tried the bracket in so many different ways it's not even funny. The only thing I can think of is either the original calliper mounting bracket is different or they supplied the wrong rotor which I almost doubt.

digging around in my hollow brain for a moment, the same thing happened to me.

i had purchased what i thought were ae86 hubs, but turned out they were not... were for some other toyota could be that? it had the same problems.

OR and i could be completely mistaken, but are you trying to use the ke70/ae71 caliper bracket instead of the ae86 one? cos i seem to remember they are different?

It's a bigger job getting21731217322173321734 these pics from my phone to the pc than it is fitting the coilovers!

yeah fantapants I think you might be right with the brake calliper bracket thats different. It's the only items that I have'nt changed and from the pics that littleredspirit posted I can clearly see a difference. Thanks

Went to KYP in Perth this morning and they happened to have a right hand brake caliper mounting bracket of a Ae86. I could straight away see the difference between mine and the Ae86 one. I went home and the brakes on the R.h side basically fell into place. What a relief. Got another one on order so hopefully have the car up and running soon. Thanks to LittleRedSpirit for the photos and advise and fantapants and the other guys. I really appreciate it.
