Hey,
I want some adjustability in the height of my hachi (just like the front coilovers)
this is due to having a punishingly low driveway, so i want to be able to adjust for daily use and track use.
how can you get adjustable height in the rear? do i have any other options apart from rear coilovers?
of not how is the conversion done?

bc seems to be the flavour of the month :)
though seriously, the amount of fucking around involved in changing heights once you have them sorted is AWFUL. Plenty of guys skid just fine with legally acceptable hieghts, check robos notch man, that boy is sliding a 4x4 :)
And well frankly a well sorted higher car will handle better than a grass cutter. Just run it at the hieght you can and make the best of it. Or be like me and run it low and grind the hell out of the exhaust everytime :)

also forgot ol man gilly's effort, well made setup :) treditional coilover, not the split unit like bc so setting should be easier.
But yeah, coilovers are great for wank and for allowing cornerweighting and not a lot else :)
i got them for the wank :)

well i can lower the back about 15mm at the moment without hitting
so now i guess i have to find out which springs give me that height...... which is a pain in itself....

If you upgrade to 15's or 14's, you can probably find a decent tire size (205/50/15, 195/50/15) that might have a taller overall diameter than what you have now.
The gap between the wheels wells will look smaller to, while giving you better ground clearance.
Keep in mind, every time you raise or lower the suspension, the toe will need to be re-adjusted. Even if you do the rear, the caster changes slightly, as well at the toe. Changing ride height isn't as convenient as we'd like..

fuck that lower the crap out of it... then chock the gutter with wood planks the smooth off the transfer... make sure you dont limit draininage and explain to your neighbours why u are doing it, and no one should have a problem :)
or if you can fab, make something less conspicuous :)

oh and for the record, i am going for rota grids (16x8) in a month, but they will have the same rolling diameter as the stock rims......
i might try to chock the gutter, get a little arch going so water goes under and i go over.

bc do not use rear coilovers, they use rear adjustable spring seats (which imho are awesome).
these are t3 items

a bolt on shelf with a sleve kit sat ontop is how they do it.

yeah i figured he was refering to coilovers as the universal meaning of adjustment :)
rotas WONT give you the same rolling diamter. Well at least mine didnt. 195 45 16 and the chassis rails lifted like 10mm over the 195 50 15

225 40 16 is out by 0.8%
so thats close enough
i am also going for grip more than drift, hence the wider tyres

have you considered just buying another pair of springs?
if you have adjsutable in the front, just buy another set of springs (max like $200) and chuck them in when you wanna go higher?
i wouldnt waste money on rear coilovers....
